Best Business Credit Cards For Travel Of April 2024 – Forbes Advisor

The Business Platinum Card® from American Express (terms apply, see rates & fees) may have one of the priciest annual fees among rewards cards available today, but the value of its perks compensates for the cost—assuming you’ll use them. On top of rewards and an initial welcome bonus, you’ll qualify for an array of credits that make travel more affordable and comfortable.

Who it’s best for: Entrepreneurs who value the premium travel experience from door to door and don’t mind a high annual fee.

Rewards: Earn 5 Membership Rewards® points per dollar on flights and prepaid hotels through American Express Travel, 1.5 points per dollar on eligible purchases at U.S. construction material & hardware suppliers, electronic goods retailers and software and cloud system providers, and shipping providers, as well as on purchases of $5,000 or more everywhere else, on up to $2 million of these purchases per calendar year and 1 point per dollar on other eligible purchases.

Welcome offer: Earn 150,000 Membership Rewards® points after spending $20,000 in eligible purchases with the card within the first 3 months of card membership.

Annual fee: $695

Other benefits and drawbacks: The Business Platinum Card® from American Express allows up to a $200 annual statement credit for eligible incidental purchases with your selected airline. You also get up to $400 in annual credits toward U.S. purchases with Dell (enrollment required, through 12/31/24). That’s an excellent perk provided you’re not an Apple loyalist. The card also offers credits with Adobe Creative Solutions, Indeed and for your wireless coverage that may have more appeal.

You also get the most valuable airline lounge membership available today, which includes Priority Pass access, entrance into American Express’ Centurion lounges and Delta Sky Clubs when you fly Delta Air Lines (effective 2/1/25 Delta Sky Club access will be reduced to 10 visits per year unless a minimum spend threshold is reached). In addition to the other travel perks, this card packs in huge rewards for basic business expenses and for those who love to travel in comfort.
